4. MS IGLOO 2: The Gravity Front; some elements of the supernatural, but for the most part it's those peole that MS Gundam don't really focus on; 3 episodes and in 3D, so it's a little different, but it's short enough to get through in a day, so I'd check it out. First episode is Infantry vs Mobile Suits, second is Tanks vs Mobile Suits and the third is Guntanks versus everything. You want gritty stuff? This is as gritty as it gets.
5. The 08th MS Team: as you can probably tell, I prefer real robot to super, but then everyone focuses on super robot. More focus on the grunt mechs and the such, bit of a silly love story involved, but it's not too bad. Good action, blend of drama, action and humour and the mutherfuckin' EZ-8. Pretty solid and brings the whole Gundam thing down to Earth. Sorry.
6.Bubblegum Crisis: 2033: female A-team in power armour versus 80s Cyberpunk corporation. It's a bit more complex then that, but that's the gist of it; animation has aged very well, the action is good and interesting with some great stories and solid characters. One potential problem, however; it's 80's as fuck; the music, design and style of the series places in right in the late 80s; so if you can't stand that sort of thing, at least try the first episode, because it's still very good. Only 8 episodes as well (which is good for people getting into mech stuff, but bad for fans of the show, like me. There's also a full series remake; 2044, but I haven't seen that yet.
That should keep you busy for a while. There's other stuff as well, like Metal Suit Panic Madox, FLAG and the such, but I'm not writing out summaries for every series and OVA under the sun.
