-he wants to play a calm and collected role like one of his mentors back in the day, but since then he's mostly been a "shouter"
-as Link he was told to do grunts and other reactions sounds that didn't sound too japanese because the game was aimed at an international audience
-the original character he did in Mugen no Frontier was something he requested to do, unlike the usual way when th studio comes to a seiyuu with a character already picked for them
-he loves all his roles, doesn't have any he dislikes
-Gai Shishio is his ultimate hero that he played
-some fangirls kept asking him about some radio show that he does back in moonland, and he kept mentioning that they have a DVD that they should buy
-some dude asked him for any advice for screaming attacks, Hiyama asked him for a sample, the guy did a kinda decent Goldion Hammer, but Hiyama immediately made him look pathetic by doing a proper one
-when asked about the swine flu thing that made some other japanese guests cancel at other cons he said he though the convention was gonna be canceled, but was very happy to come when it wasn't
-he does strain his voice a lot when screaming, but he has super secret professional seiyuu techniques to make it sound 100% even when he's not at 100%
