I thought the last exchange between Shiro and Saber was pretty moving, at least to me. I didn't have a problem with it other than the fact that it was a bit sad given what could have been, which brings me to a core problem I have with VNs of this type. For me the knowledge of what took place in previous arcs amplifies the emotional impact and drama of later arcs quite a lot, and it always bothers me because things never work out the way I would like them to.
